In 1974, Our Founder, Larry M. Judy, untouched by doubt and unwavering in his determination to build and achieve his dreams, first opened the doors to what would later become Judy Construction Company.
During the 1950’s he worked tirelessly in his engineering studies, in the 1960’s he accepted work in the heavy construction division within a Dayton, OH company where he obtained his Professional Engineers License; then was later employed at Hinkle Contracting in Paris, KY where he led a large-scale heavy civil construction team and was promoted to Vice President. In the spring of 1974, Larry left Hinkle and formed a corporation with the late Charles T. Martin. Martin & Judy, Inc. was in business until 1978 when Mr. Martin sold his interest in the business to Mr. Judy. Soon after, the name was changed to Judy Construction Company.
In 1986, after many years of successfully performing work in the areas of bridge and heavy highway construction, Larry began to realize a shift in revenue concentration in the construction of water and waste water treatment facilities. After 39 years at the head of the company, in 2013 Larry succeeded his position of President to his son, Steve Judy.
Following Steve’s leadership, Judy Construction Company’s hands-on management style and our team’s high-level expertise allows for an efficient and result-oriented business model that has consistently put JCC at the top of the industry. We offer an unprecedented level of access to our teams and experience. JCC prides itself on anticipating shifts and trends within the industry and how to capitalize on behalf of our clients. This forward-thinking approach is why we have been ranked in the top 200 Environmental Contractors globally by the Engineering News – Record for the past 20 years. Since our inception, we have completed well over 200 water and wastewater treatment projects, as well as countless heavy-highway, bridge, and commercial building projects.
Judy Construction Company was officially incorporated on April 9, 1974, and in 2024, we are honored to celebrate fifty years in business. One of JCC’s retirees recently was quoted saying “All should be proud of this accomplishment. As we know, this is a tricky business with multiple ebbs and flows and to survive 50 years is almost unheard of.” Absolutely, the success of Judy Construction Company would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of every employee. As a testament to Steve Judy’s commitment to continue many more years of successful operations, to preserve our historical company culture, to help build community wealth, and to ensure future growth opportunities; Judy Construction Company is now a 100% Employee Owned and Operated Company.
